Weidong Zhang received the B.S. degree in automation and Ph.D. degree in control science and engineering from University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing, China, in 1996 and 2004, respectively. Professor Weidong Zhang is the chief directorof National Center for Materials Service Safety(Under Construction), University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing, China. His research interest include multi-sensors monitoring, intelligent control, system reliability and safety assessment, and he has been engaged in the application on high speed train key component, high accuracy motorized spindle, electric car, and multi-levels system service safety assessment. He has presided more than 10 projects from NSC, 863 Plan, etc. and won the third prize of science and technology progress awards of Beijing. He has published more than 50 papers and holds 8 patents. Dr. Zhang is a member of INFORMS, TMS and Chinese Society for Metals ( CSM).
