During 12th to 15th October 2021, more than ten postgraduates of RIMSS, along with staff, including Prof. Huiling Jiang, Dr. Liang Zhou, Dr. Zhengqing Zhou, Dr. Hui Wang (Senior Engineer), Dr. Qing Deng and Dr. Xuehong Gao attended 2021 China International Fire Protection Equipment Technology Conference & Exposition.
On the afternoon of 13th October, Prof. Huiling Jiang brought a speech, namely “Prospects for the intelligent guidance system based on fire moving and information estimation of trapped persons”. She introduces the course of development of the evacuation system and trapped person positioning system against fire-moving circumstance, which drew broad concern among the participators.
On the morning of 14th October, the students and staff of RIMSS attended the “New Fire Protection & Create the Future” themed Fire Protection Innovative Technology Summit. Mr Pengxiang Wang (Director of Technology Service Department and Publicity Department of China Fire Protection Association) addressed at the commencement. Prof. Huiling Jiang hosted the forum and gave a speech, “The Recognition of Fault Arc based on CNN”, illustrating electric fire grim for nearly a decade and came up with an innovative CNN model for recognizing the fault arc and detecting the potential hazard of the electric fire. Afterwards, other experts, universities’ scholars and speakers from enterprises like Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd and Xinyuboxun Automobile Co., Ltd gave speeches consecutively. A postgraduate student of RIMSS said: “It is extremely beneficial to attend such forum for listening to such great speeches. We should devote great effort in studying and research, putting what we have learned into practice, and promoting the development of our state’s fire protection”.
In addition, the students and staff also visited the fire protection equipment exhibition and learned the great importance of the Internet and Big Data in supporting the safety industry. Smart fire protection technology integrated with Big Data, AI and IoT is becoming an inevitable trend and facilitating smart city building and operation. Various experts and scholars highly regard this forum as an excellent platform for showing the latest technology and reinforcing communication and cooperation in the fire protection community.
